2027 Atomic Backland 109 Skis

We like the Backland 109 for touring plans built around soft snow and the descent. Its directional shape makes sense for skiers who want to drive their turns.

Consider Another Option If

Choose a narrower touring ski for firm snow and long approaches, or a more playful shape if you prefer a loose, freestyle-oriented feel.

• Big-mountain freeride ski touring
• Ski tourers who prioritize the descent without moving to a heavier freeride setup
• Powder, deep snow and variable backcountry conditions
• Skiers looking for a wide, directional touring ski

• FreeTour Profile: Uses more poplar wood and less fiberglass and resin to support downhill performance while maintaining a weight-conscious touring construction.
• HRZN 3D Backland: Adds surface area at the tip to support flotation in deeper snow.
• Ultra Light Woodcore: Combines poplar and caruba to balance low weight with the ski's intended performance.
• Powder Rocker: Combines pronounced tip and tail rocker with camber underfoot for maneuverability in powder, crud and chopped snow.
• Dura Cap Sidewall: Combines sidewall construction with a rounded shape for edge grip and durability.
