How warm is the Black Diamond Deploy Down 1.0 Hoody?

With 110 g of 800-fill goose down, it offers an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio, but it is designed primarily as a lightweight mountain insulation piece rather than a heavyweight belay jacket.

Is the Deploy Down 1.0 Hoody good for ski touring?

Yes. Its low weight, small packed size and efficient down insulation make it particularly useful as an insulating layer carried in your pack for transitions, breaks and colder conditions.

Can it be worn under a shell?

Yes. Black Diamond designed the Deploy Down 1.0 as a lightweight insulating layer, including under a shell for ice climbing and alpine use.

Does it pack into its own pocket?

Yes. The jacket stuffs into its own pocket and includes a carabiner clip loop, making it easy to carry on a harness or in a small pack.
