This year, the Ferreol Pionnier 104 gets a full refresh! After five seasons of snowy fun, our engineering team found the inspiration to take this beloved ski to the next level—introducing the Pionnier 104 2.0.
The team managed to preserve the core identity of the Pionnier—its agility and versatility—while adding an extra dose of stability. The sidecut has been redesigned to allow for smoother turn initiation, and the 3-point camber has been refined to make the ski even more playful at lower edge angles. They also slightly increased the flex stiffness at the tail for added support and drive out of turns.
On top of that, the construction was rethought: an aluminum mounting plate now provides reinforcement underfoot, and the full-length carbon layer has been replaced with a 100 mm carbon strip—reducing the ski’s carbon footprint compared to the previous version while increasing its durability. The result? A ski that’s exceptionally agile, versatile, and tuned to meet a wide range of skiing styles and terrain types.
Ferreol Pionnier 104 2.0 Ski Features:

Poplar heart: The poplar cores are sourced from sustainable forests in the Lower St. Lawrence region, less than 100 km from the factory. The harvesting process respects the environment with selective logging and promotes forest regeneration, making the skis lightweight and durable.
Titanal Plate: The titanal plate withstands harsh conditions, adding rigidity under the boot for better grip and stability on firm snow, exceeding safety standards.
Carbon fiber: Perfect for high-end and touring skis, carbon fiber offers an excellent lightness/rigidity ratio, ensuring skis that are light on the ascent and solid on the descent.
Fiberglass: While fiberglass is not as rigid as carbon fiber, it does offer greater strength. Strength lies in a fiber's ability to resist breaking under the weight of a load. This is why this fiber is the preferred choice when it comes to providing strength and durability to skis.
Bio-sourced epoxy: Entropy Resins' bio-based Super Sap epoxy uses renewable materials, offering performance equivalent to traditional resins with reduced environmental impact.
Bio-sourced topsheet: The 50% bio-based topsheet, made from renewable materials and 20% recycled materials, is made with castor oil, ensuring exceptional durability and waterproofing.
Stiffness:
Just like the previous version, this new generation 2.0 offers flexural and torsional rigidities, which combined with the 3-point camber and other geometric characteristics, provide both grip on firm snow and agility. The Pionnier 104 2.0, however, has a tail that has been stiffened mainly in flexion, allowing a more balanced ski in the front and rear, giving the skier more support in the face of possible imbalances coming from the skied terrain.
