ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Tim Banfield has worked in the adventure photography industry for nine years, gaining experience in his niche—ice climbing—while at the same time writing feature articles that support his photos. As a seasoned climbing photographer, he is passionate about capturing authentic ice and mixed climbing images taken in the moment. In addition to writing and photography, he is also involved in real estate and social media. Outside of the “office”, Tim enjoys climbing for fun, skiing, and taking Instagrams of his dog Trango. Sean Isaac is a fully certified Alpine Guide with the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides. He has been ice climbing for 30 years and instructing ice and mixed for the past 20 years. During that time, he has taught more than a thousand people the art of moving over frozen waterfalls. Based in Canmore, Alberta in the Canadian Rockies, Sean was a key member of the modern mixed climbing movement in late 90s and early 2000s establishing classics like Cryophobia, The Asylum, Mixed Monster, Uniform Queen and The Real Big Drip to name a few and repeating test pieces like Musashi (M12). He has competed in the Ice World Cup, Ouray Ice Festival Competition, Bozeman Ice Festival and Festiglace with a handful of podium placements. He has traveled all over the world in search of new routes to the remote ranges of Alaska, Patagonia, Peru, Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan. Sean is also author of several ice and mixed books including Mixed Climbing in the Canadian Rockies by Rocky Mountain Books, Mixed Climbing by Falcon Guides and Ice Climbing Leader Field Handbook by the Alpine Club of Canada. Vertical Addiction ships orders via Canada Post expedited service with tracking and $100 insurance included. Delivery times vary: 2–3 business days within Alberta/BC, 3–4 days to Saskatchewan/Manitoba, and up to 9 days for eastern provinces. U.S. orders may take 7–15 business days due to customs. Expedited shipping is available upon request.
Returns are accepted on regular-priced items within 10 business days, provided they are unused and in original condition with tags and packaging. Sale items and climbing/safety gear are final sale. Customers must contact the store for a return authorization (RA#) and are responsible for return shipping. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Warranty claims for defective items can be directed to the store for manufacturer processing.

How do you ship?
All the orders are shipped with Canada Post. We use their Expedited service which offers a tracking number and $100 insurance. Depending on your location, you can expect you parcel do take between 2 to 8 business days to get to you once shipped. Here's a rough estimate:
- Alberta and British-Columbia: 2-3 business days
- Sasakatchewan-Manitoba: 3-4 business days
- Ontario and Quebec: 6-8 business days
- Maritimes: 7-9 business days
If you are ordering from the USA, you can expect between 7 and 15 business days before you see your order. That is because sometimes, the duty clearance takes time to process.
Can I get my order faster?
Yes you can. If you want your order to ship faster, you can leave us a note when you do your purchase online. We will then get a quote from Canada Post and will contact you with the shipping costs. Please note that we are not responsible for shipping costs when you want it expedited. You will have to cover all the cost for this shipping method.
Do you ship internationally?
We can. If you live outside Canada or the United-States of America, you can send us an email with the item you would like buy and your full address and we can get a quote from different courriers. Once we have an idea of the shipping cost, we will confirm with you the amount and then, we can proceed with phone order.
